Labor Day feels bittersweet for me. While we say goodbye to long sunny days, Fall is an exciting time in New York.
Now, after the holiday, NY Fashion Week starts. That's when I will resume the course I give to stylists after pausing due to the pandemic. Besides, the best season to get dressed is coming! I know many of you feel the same way, as I am getting requests for styling sessions this month.
I can't wait to share ideas about Fall outfits, but let's talk about how to get stylishly dressed on warm days for now.
In case you missed these posts, here are some ideas for your back-to-the-office outfits:
SMALL TALK WITH ROSIE PETRILLO - SKIN THERAPIST - ÂME SKIN STUDIO
I asked Rosie about skin treatments at this time of the year.
MC - What treatments do you recommend that are safe for the late Summer/early Fall when the sun is still intense?
RP: Dermaplaning can be a mild alternative for a Chemical Peel. This treatment physically exfoliates the skin’s surface, removing the topmost layer of dead skin and fine, vellus hair to promote smoother skin. Microdermabrasion treatment also stimulates cell renewal and draws out impurities within your pores, removing the outer layer of dead skin and leaving the skin smooth and brighter.
MC - Would you recommend switching any products in a regimen or adding any product in one's regimen they might not have been using in the summertime?
RP: With the change of season comes a change in skincare! The further into Autumn we get, the colder and drier the air. All the sticky humidity of Summer is gone, and we're left with dry, flaky skin. So leave those light summer creams behind and use heavier, rich, nourishing moisturizers! Bring back that soft baby skin with ceramides, the super healthy essential fatty acids.
MC - Are there any treatments that you do not recommend doing in this transitional period between late Summer / early Fall?
RP: Several procedures should still be avoided during this time. For example, chemical peels, fractional laser, or pulsed light on tanned skin. These treatments sensitize the skin and can end up promoting hyperpigmentation or causing burns.
