ARE YOU READY FOR THANKSGIVING?
Marcia Crivorot
Hello everyone, hope all is well!

We can tell Winter is really coming to New York! Days are short, sunlight looks different (love it, by the way!) and nature is changing...

One more thing that is changing is how we celebrate the holidays. For instance, my Thanksgiving isn't going to be the same this year.

I'm guessing yours too, right?

Usually we host a party for about 40 people, but this year it will be just our small family.

If you're also staying in and looking for some fashion inspo, here are some posts you might be interested in reading:

  • Feeling bad about not meeting your loved ones? Please, don’t even think of wearing pajamas all day! I come with great news! I heard that Zoom is offering unlimited calls during the holiday. If you haven't figured your “small Thanksgiving” outfit yet, read "What to wear on Thanksgiving” now.

  • Let’s talk about the day after: Black Friday. I don’t think you should buy anything unless you really need/ love/ find something that will be a great addition to your closet. That’s why I feel that it's a good time to shop for high quality clothes that either you wear a lot or need to be replaced. One of my wardrobe staples is a good old pair of jeans. I wear them a lot, for different occasions, in different ways. Check out “Wardrobe essentials: Denim pants” to get inspired!

  • Cardigans are a great Fall piece, but also a perfect Winter layer. This season, they are more interesting than ever! I am a huge fan of cardigans and I love to wear them in different ways - even back to front! Learn more about this timeless piece of clothing: "Fall tips: How to wear cardigans in 2020”

  • One of my suggestions for Thanksgiving is the sweater dress. It's a classic that became trendy this season, which means you can find it in many stores with various colors and price points. “How to style sweater dresses” will help you get easy styling ideas!
SMALL TALK:
INTERVIEW WITH CHEF MICHELE LEÃO
Chef Michele Leao
I've been wondering what to make for Thanksgiving dinner. So I decided to ask Michele, a brilliant chef who lives in my area, to help us.

She shared some amazing and practical recipes to help us. This is a short extract of my chat with her:
M: This year we'll celebrate Thanksgiving in small groups. In the previous years, I was never in charge of the turkey and I don't want to make one for only 5 people. What is your suggestion?.
Chef Michele: "Whatever your version of a “traditional” holiday is, it might not be happening this year, but no need to skip out on your favorite dishes, so, making a roasted turkey breast roulade might be a go-to choice for the Holidays because it takes less time to roast and looks stunning with the stuffing rolled up in the turkey. Just place an order with your local butcher/ or even Whole Foods to bone and butterfly the Turkey Breast, which in my opinion is much more flavorful and a great option if you’re not confident in cooking a whole turkey!

M: Can you share with us an easy, quick and delicious recipe for Thanksgiving?
Chef Michele: “Sure! I will show you how to make a red rice with cranberry, cashews and scallions”

Read the full version here to find out how to put together a small Thanksgiving menu that hits all the classic notes, but without the mountains of cooking and messy kitchen.

A BRAND FOR YOU TO KNOW: AYR

AYR stands for "All Year Round'', a brand founded by 3 women that wanted to create an alternative to fast fashion.
They sell basic pieces, such as T-shirts, shirts, sweaters and outerwear, with a clean, neutral, and ageless aesthetic. They are great for a wardrobe foundation. It's basically that kind of clothes we all need in our closets.
For AYR, quality and premium fabrics are a top priority. Rumor has it that their denim pants are known to be crazy comfy and fit very well.
