Welcome to Spring Cleaning Challenge Day 6!
Let's get ready for Summer! Today, you will review the clothes and accessories you wear in the warm season: swimwear, cover-ups, summer hats, and beach bags.
If you are a Summer lover like me, you will be happy working on these items. However, unless you have a planned trip or you live in a warm place, it may take some time for you to be able to wear them. So, after cleaning, write down what you will keep and need to shop for in the following months. Planning is everything when we want to have an intentional wardrobe.
Swimwear Check if your swimsuits still fit well and look good. If any have stains or damage, it's time to say goodbye.
Cover-Ups Do you have cover-ups or do you prefer to wear a longer bottom-down shirt? What styles do you prefer? Do you have old pieces that you would never wear to the beach again? Donate them!
Summer Hats Keep only hats that you like and are in good shape. Do you prefer straw hats or baseball caps? Maybe both, depending on what you will be doing in the sun. Anyway, you don't need to keep too many of them; choose your favorite ones and give away the ones you never wear.
Summer Bags You might love fabric or straw/raffia bags. Just be sure they serve you well and look good. Straw/raffia bags are stylish, but fabric totes can be practical when you are traveling on a plane with a carry-on.
Shorts Just try them on. Do you still love them? If you don't, you know my opinion. Last Summer we had many options of shorts in different styles and price points. I bet this will happen again this year, since everyone plans some days away.
Pro tip The best way to care for your swimwear is to hand wash it and let it air dry. Sunblock can stain swimsuits, so wash them as soon as possible.
If you don't have too many Summer clothes, take advantage to finish the previous days of the challenge. If you have a lot of things to take a look at, you can finish your task on another day. Just don't give up!
See you tomorrow!
