March 2023: Is it too early to start talking about Spring fashion?

IS IT TOO EARLY TO START TALKING ABOUT SPRING FASHION?
I know New York, and many parts across the US, are being hit by snowstorms or cold fronts, but I am in the mood to talk about Spring wardrobe.
I don't intend to start shopping for new colors, prints, or silhouettes just because we long for warmer days. I mean to plan transitional weather outfits with what we have at home.
Remember what I always say: our closet is the first place we should go shopping! I definitely like to buy new items every season, but we need to be strategic and always ask ourselves if it makes sense.
In case you missed them, I wrote many posts that can help make your styling game strong:
Denim is a huge trend this upcoming season. Learn how to wear denim on denim (also known as the Canadian tuxedo) in the same outfit. It's perfect for now and Springtime!
I know I am! As a native of Rio de Janeiro, I need to recharge my vitamin sea at this time of the year. I always pack the same items, so this is the inspiration you need to pack wisely.
SMALL TALK WITH INGRID TONELLI, PILATES INSTRUCTOR AND OWNER OF BODY MIND PILATES TRAINING IN CHAPPAQUA, NEW YORK.
MC: Ingrid, who is your client?
IT:Pilates can be beneficial for many different groups, be it young mothers, athletes, active adults, or teenagers…the foundations of Pilates movements, also known as Contrology, can positively impact how you move, how you play, and how you connect to your body, making the method accessible to all.
MC: Why have you decided to be a Pilates instructor and have your studio?
IT: I was going through a very tough path when stress took its toll. I started experiencing neck, hip, and back problems. My brain was in constant alert mode. On top of that, I found out I have Central Auditory Processing Disorder and ADHD. That is how I found Pilates and experienced its benefits firsthand. Within six months of training, I was pain-free! It felt like I could adjust my nervous system on a cellular level. From that moment on, I decided to pursue teacher training to become a Pilates professional and help others to change their relationship with their bodies and improve their overall well-being. Since the beginning of my training to become a certified classical Pilates instructor, I had planned on creating a safe space for our community with a relaxing atmosphere and good energy. It was just a matter of time until I could build that space. I feel so honored and thankful for that.
MC: What are the benefits of practicing Pilates?
IT: There are many benefits to regular practice. Some are more commonly known, like improvement in posture, core strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, sports performance, and bone density. Other less discussed benefits, which are very important, are improved cognitive function, stress response, body awareness, playfulness, willingness to experience new things, and confidence. The world is presenting itself in a very different dynamic than what we were used to— I find it necessary to maintain a physical activity that helps you improve your understanding of how impactful your body/mind/spirit connection truly is. Including Pilates in your weekly fitness regime is your ultimate gateway for long-term, sustainable health benefits.
Two friends, one that always shopped for clothes in regular sizes and the other that always needed plus-size options, wanted to be able to go shopping at the same store. Simple like that. They decided to create Universal Standard, a brand of all sizes. On their website, I can help all my clients. They used to have a store in NYC, but unfortunately, it closed during the pandemic.
Talk to you soon,
