HELLO, SPRING!

Marcia Crivorot and a cherry tree

How excited are you about Spring? We can already see blossoms in New York. This certainly makes me happy and hopeful.

We can't deny that we are living in complicated times. That's why I would like to introduce you to a small brand that belongs to Elena Rudenko.

She's a Ukrainian designer who lives in NYC with her husband, but the rest of her family is in Ukraine. I visited her store for two main reasons: I love her work, and I wanted to shop for a great cause.

Elena is donating all of her sales to Unicef and Razom to help her country. I'm wearing an old coat by Elena Rudenko in the photo below. The collar (not pictured) and the sleeves are detachable. Isn't it interesting?
Take a look at the new pieces I bought:

A new season usually influences us to want new clothes. But remember what I always say: before spending any money, shop your closet first! Considering the pandemic, I'm sure we all need to do it this year.

Let's talk about Spring trends?

Spring 2022 has miniskirts, low-waisted pants, cutouts, and vibrant colors.

I know that it looks like the designers just addressed the Gen Z crowd this season. But don't get frustrated just yet. I wrote about two of these trends to bring different ideas so you can get inspired and adapt them to your reality.

SMALL TALK WITH PAULA GARTENKRAUT, CATERING MANAGER OF BRIGADEIRO BAKERY

When you think about Easter Sunday, what comes to your mind? I bet it's chocolate.
So I asked Paula, Brigadeiro Bakery's Catering Manager, to share what they have to offer this upcoming holiday.

MC: For those who don't know the most famous Brazilian sweet, what is a brigadeiro?

Paula: Brigadeiro is this amazingly creamy truffle, original from Brazil. It's made by slowly caramelizing sweetened condensed milk, chocolate, and a bit of butter. Once it cools down, you roll it into small balls and cover them with delicious sprinkles. It's the kind of dessert that takes you back to your childhood in just one bite, especially if you are Brazilian.

MC: What does Brigadeiro Bakery recommend as an amazing Easter gift? Do you deliver?

Paula: We have chocolate spoonable easter eggs, with cream brigadeiro, chunks of cookies, or cake and cream brigadeiro. During the pandemic, we realized that we needed to make the Easter eggs shippable. We have clients on the West Coast or people who just want to send the chocolate eggs as a gift.

MC: For those who prefer dark chocolate (like me), what do you suggest?

Paula: We have dark chocolate Brigadeiro and a gluten-free one. Coming this summer, a vegan option will be available, too.

You can follow Brigadeiro Bakery on Instagram @brigadeironyc or, if you live in the tri-state area, visit their cute little store in Soho
A BRAND FOR YOU TO KNOW: CARIUMA

Cariuma's founders claim their sneakers are good-looking, crazy comfy, and consciously made. Some clients gave me positive feedback, and I'm thinking about buying a pair this season. Do you need new sneakers to go out and about? Are you planning to add a pop of color and fun to your closet? Here's an excellent brand to consider!
