Why the color of your hair is so important
When I do a color analysis, I study your skin, eyes, eyebrows, and natural hair. They will guide me to find the best color palette for you. This means you will learn the colors that enhance your natural beauty.
If you have a different color than your natural hair - for example, highlights - I will isolate them during the test with a hair band. Then I will analyze if your current hair color is aligned with your palette. Additionally, the way the highlights are done makes all the difference. Some women will look better when the highlights are next to the roots, while others will look better if they are not too close. I like to take hair samples with me, as you can see in the photo.
Here are testimonials that I have heard from clients before and after their test:
1. "Something is wrong with my hair color, but I can't tell you what it is."
The temperature of her hair color was too warm for her complexion. This made her look tired.
2. "After my color analysis with you, I understood why I like my highlights better after some weeks."
She had a high contrast (the balance between dark vs. light on her face). In this case, it was better to go one or two tones lighter next to her roots and lighter on the ends. That's because she doesn't have gray hair yet.
3. "With my color analysis, I understood why my clothes look different now that I have gray hair."
Her natural contrast is lower now. Changing the color combinations next to her face will work. Instead of wearing black and white, it's better to match gray and black, for example.
Your hair is the frame of your face. It has a massive impact on your appearance. I have a brilliant hairdresser in New York that I like to recommend whenever necessary. I always send his briefing with my analysis. I will not tell anyone to dye their hair or how to do it. I only give suggestions about temperature and contrast.
Have you ever had your color analysis done? Remember that doing your color analysis doesn't put you inside a box. It's to give you knowledge of what looks best on you - this is so powerful! You will decide how to wear your existing clothes, and how to shop better for clothes, accessories, and make-up. Yes, you know that lipstick that looks good on your friend but not really on you? I will talk about this in a future post.
