What I wore on Thanksgiving
I liked my Thanksgiving dinner outfit a lot, so I decided to share the process of deciding what to wear with you. Hopefully, it will be inspiring for you to thoughtfully do the same with your clothes and accessories for special occasions:
I like tailored pants with pleats and a bit oversized. I feel they are classic yet modern at the same time, so they fit my style. However, being on the petite side (I am 5'3"), I am mindful of balancing proportions, so a fitted top was important. That's why I bought this bodysuit months ago. The versatile necktie can be left undone, helping to create an elongated silhouette.
Black and brown look beautiful together; don't be afraid of wearing this color combination.
Since black is not a good color for my complexion, wearing jewelry is important. Gold earrings are perfect for my warm undertone.
The shoes: those were my first design purchase 22 years ago! I was traveling with my family in June, and there was a Summer sale at Galerie Lafayette in Paris. When I saw those shoes, I immediately knew I wanted them. It was the first time I had seen three-color shoes. I have just sent them to the cobbler for another repair. They are Prada, and I like them better than the new ones with a similar style because they have a logo.
I could have added a belt, but believe me, it is on my list to buy a simple classic black belt; I will get one soon. My old ones don't fit me anymore (yes, it happens to all of us), and the one I have wouldn't look good with this bodysuit.
When we know what we like to wear, it eliminates the need for constant new purchases. We buy only when it makes sense in our lives.
