How to wear pink

The other day a client asked me whether she should buy pink clothes or if it was a trend that might disappear in the next season.

My answer was that pink has been popular for many seasons now. This trend began with the #metoo movement.

During that time, we started to see more pink in the stores. Since then, pink never really went away.

There was also an exhibition at the FIT Museum about the story of the pink. It even included the pussy hat, now a museum item. Pink used to be a symbol of ingenuity and girliness. Now, it turned into a symbol of power and strength.

When social movements happen behind a trend, they last longer.

Of course, now people are talking a lot about Barbiecore. My advice is simple: if you like the color, go for it. Don't worry about trends too much!

Learn five tips to create outfits with pink:

1 - You don't need to go head to toe in bright pink. You can mix it with neutral colors, such as gray and brown.

2 - If you want to play with color combinations, you can choose pink + red, pink + green, or even pink + purple. It shows creativity - if it fits your style.

3 - If you are worried about looking too girly, choose pieces such as a sweater or tailored pants.

4 - Bright pink is very intense. Maybe it is not the best color for your complexion. It could overpower you. Do you know when we see someone's outfit before we see the person? That's what I mean. In this case, avoid wearing it close to your face. Pick a skirt, a pair of pants, or even a bag.

5 - It's also a very cool color (temperature). If you have a warm undertone, it might accentuate the dark circles around your eyes. That way, you can either wear a piece far away from your face or choose a different tone of pink.
