How to style yellow clothes and look amazing!
Women usually have a love/hate relationship with some colors. When it comes to yellow in particular, some think they look amazing, while others think it's too bright for them.
In reality, as with most of the colors, there are plenty of shades of yellow: very light, cool, bright, or warm.
Some are very intense, others very soft, almost like beige.
It makes a huge difference if you wear an intensity that harmonizes with your complexion. This is important for shirts, scarves, and jewelry - in short, everything you wear near your face.
Here you can find examples of different yellows. If you have a light complexion, you will probably look more beautiful in a buttery yellow. However, if you have a cool undertone and a bright complexion, you will look even better in one of the bright cool yellows because repetition brings harmony.
For instance, mustard yellows are warm and soft, so they are perfect for my complexion. Does it mean that I never pick any other type of yellow? Not really. I definitely try to avoid the tones that are cool and bright because they are opposite to my complexion. But it doesn't mean that I don't try anything a little different once in a while.
Yellow is an optimistic color associated with energy and hope. That's why it was one of the colors of the year, according to Pantone. The other one is gray which symbolizes strength.
We all need both of them this 2021, right?
I like to tell my clients that our personal style is always the most important factor when deciding what to wear, not what's trendy or what is in our color palette.
After all, knowing what looks good on us gives us power. For example, if you prefer wearing neutral colors and they match your complexion, you can opt for adding some pops of color in small pieces (such as accessories). Besides, remember that we can camouflage a negative color effect with the right makeup by picking shades that complement our natural beauty.
