Hoops: earrings that (almost) never go out of style

Hoops are a classic type of earrings that, once in a while, come back as a trend.

This style is incredibly easy to wear because they come in different sizes, colors, and finishings.

They are also a perfect option for attending business meetings because hoops don't move too much. When we are talking on Zoom, for example, we want people to pay attention to what we're saying, so putting on accessories that move a lot can be very distracting.

Now, here's a fun fact about me: there is no way I can leave home without my earrings. I can't even work from home without them, no matter the size. For instance, when I wear a necklace, I prefer to choose small earrings, including my favorite hoops.

In the latest seasons, we have a new issue to consider: pairing hoops with face masks can be a bit of a hassle. Although some people think they don't go together, you need to be careful with any sort of earrings when you take your mask off!

Here are three useful tips about styling hoops:

  • Hoops have feminine curve lines. Every time you decide to bring some softness to your outfit with accessories, think about curves. On the other hand, straight or diagonal lines are stronger.

  • Create harmony by repeating your face features. If you have curve lines on your face (lips, eyes, or curls), the hoops will be very harmonic. However, it doesn't mean that if you have straight hair you can't wear hoops. You can balance things up by linking your jewelry to details in your clothes. For example, putting on a shirt with a round collar.

  • Hoops can be fun, ladylike, and even a bit sexy. It depends on the size, the material, but also your hair and clothes. Remember: it's all about how we wear the entire outfit, not just the pieces themselves.
