This is Day 4!
Today we will take care of our scarves and Winter accessories.
Winter Accessories Check scarves, hats, and gloves and see if any need washing. Check stains first. Remove pilling with a sweater comb or fabric shaver. Here are my favorite shavers to remove pills:
Too many or too old? Consider donating if you have more than you need or pieces in bad shape - in this case, send them to recycling to avoid them ending up in a landfill.
Now, Light Scarves
If you don't wear them often, check them carefully, especially for stains. Yes, an innocent small drop of white wine can become a visible yellow stain after months.
Pay attention to the instructions If the tag says "Dry clean only," don't try to wash it at home. It's probably made of silk or other delicate fabric or it has a print - and you want to protect it. For washable scarves, I wouldn't put them in the dryer - air drying is best to prevent shrinkage.
How many is too many? Ask yourself: Do you have too many scarves? Which ones do you never wear because you don't like? Consider donating those to someone who will appreciate them.
A Stylist Tip: I work with clients who have many scarves they never wear. One reason is that they never see them when they get ready in the morning. So, after this Spring Cleaning Challenge, if you have more space in your wardrobe, consider finding a new space for your scarves to make them visible in the morning.
How did your challenge go today?
