Packing for Vacation: Stay True to Your Style(and What’s Coming Next!)
VACATION PACKING & WHAT'S NEXT
I’m writing this newsletter while looking at a turquoise, calm sea. It’s not a mirage—it’s my annual Winter escape with my husband. Some years, friends and family join us, making it even more special.
When it comes to packing for a trip like this, I know exactly what I need: swimwear, cover-ups, flip-flops, and a few outfits for dinner. My go-to choices are flowy dresses in colors or prints I love, a good hat, and two pairs of sandals. That’s it!
Vacation Style: Should You Match the Destination or Stay True to Your Style?
One of the most common questions I get—and a topic I see debated online—is:
"Should I bring clothes that match the location for vacations, or should I stay true to my style?"
My answer? Always stay true to your style.
If you don’t like prints, don’t feel pressured to buy a floral dress just because you’re headed to a tropical island.
If you’re uncomfortable with bright colors, don’t buy an orange dress just for vacation photos.
There are many ways to add a fun or relaxed vibe to your travel wardrobe without buying something you’ll only wear once. Accessories, fabrics, and styling choices can bring a vacation feel without making you feel like someone else.
Cost Per Wear: A Smart Way to Shop
Whenever I shop, I always consider the cost per wear of an item.
Since I travel to the Caribbean yearly, take summer trips, and visit my family in Rio de Janeiro, I know I’ll wear my swimwear, cover-ups, and summer dresses multiple times. My gym also has an outdoor pool in the Summer, so these purchases make sense for me.
However, since I live in New York, most of my clothing budget naturally goes toward sweaters, blazers, and boots.
My advice? There are no rules—just follow your style, lifestyle, and budget! Buy what truly works for you.
COMING SOON: A NEW SERVICE!
Next month, I’ll be announcing something exciting! Many of my clients ask me about:
The best eyeglasses and sunglasses for their features
Which haircut suits them best
Which side should they part their hair on? (Hint: It’s about more than face shape!)
Your face communicates so much about you, just like your clothing does. I can’t wait to dive into this conversation with you soon!
