Will my color palette change if I decide to let my hair go gray?
This was one of the questions I got during an Online Color talk I gave weeks ago.
Well, the answer is no, it does not change.
Once you have your Color Analysis done, your color palette will be the same forever.
But if you do decide to go gray, why are you feeling that some clothes you have don’t look as good as before?
Because of our complexion, some people look especially beautiful with gray hair, others are not that lucky. Well, we are all different from each other, right?
Usually people with cool or neutral cool undertones tend to look good with gray hair.
People with a warm undertone might look washed out, probably will have their under eyes dark circles accentuated.
But there’s hope!
In this case, wearing shirts and accessories that really fit them, let's say from their color palette, plus some make up, can really make a difference.
That being said, if you had your Color Analysis done before you go gray, you can keep wearing the same colors. But you may feel the need to do some adjustments when combining colors, because your personal contrast will change.
Here is an example: If I look only to the color of her hair, before and after, I can create a completely different color palette for her.
However, to be able to find the best colors for her, I need to take in consideration not only her hair, but also her skin undertone, her eyes, and eyebrows. And last but not least: her personal style.
If you have no clue what’s your color palette, and you’re not feeling confident with your decision about going gray, I strongly suggest you have your Color Analysis done ASAP. It will help you a lot in this process, I promise!
