What I Bought in Rio—And Why These Pieces Are Always on My List
Every time I visit my hometown, Rio de Janeiro, I make sure to bring back a few carefully chosen pieces. Shopping in Rio is more than just a fun experience—it’s about discovering quality, unique finds that I know I’ll wear and love for years to come.
This time, I stayed intentional with my choices, focusing on pieces that reflect Rio’s effortless elegance while still working with my wardrobe back in New York. Here’s what I brought home:
Swimwear: Colors, Prints & Timeless Styles
Brazilian swimwear is simply unmatched. The fabric, craftsmanship, and fit make it worth stocking up on whenever I visit. I don’t go with a specific style in mind—I just look for colors, prints, and designs that I love, and I always find something! This time was no exception, and I picked a piece that will be perfect for my next warm-weather getaway.
Jewelry: Timeless & Statement Pieces
Jewelry shopping in Rio is always an adventure. The city offers a mix of bold, fashion-forward designs and delicate, timeless pieces, often at prices that make them hard to resist.
A pair of earrings – A beautiful statement piece that will instantly elevate even the simplest outfit.
A necklace – A unique, eye-catching design that feels special yet versatile.
Both pieces add a bit of Rio’s charm to my wardrobe and will be perfect for mixing with pieces I already own.
A Farm Rio Dress & a Chic Summer Skirt
Farm Rio dress
Farm Rio is well known internationally, but in Brazil, the brand has a different line that is more affordable and less elaborate than what you find in the U.S. While shopping, I spotted a beautiful printed dress with figs and leaves. The color combination immediately caught my attention. It’s vibrant, fresh, and uniquely Brazilian—exactly the kind of piece that makes me happy to wear!
I also found a skirt from a brand I wasn’t familiar with, but the design was so perfect that I knew I’d get plenty of use out of it. I’ll definitely wear it in Spring and Summer, adding a breezy, effortless touch to my warm-weather wardrobe.
Why I Stay Selective
I liked it but I didn't purchase it.
Shopping in Rio is always inspiring, but I’ve learned to be intentional with my purchases. Instead of buying impulsively, I choose items that truly fit my style and that I know I’ll get great use out of.
Now, I can’t wait to style them! Stay tuned—I’ll share how I incorporate these finds into my outfits soon.
