Summer outfit inspiration
I always advise my clients on how to do strategic shopping. It includes purchasing what needs replacement and adding items that will make a difference in our wardrobes.
For example, a piece that helps you to create a current outfit. Even if you like the idea of a classic closet with timeless pieces, silhouettes change.
Years ago, the non-iron fitted button-down shirt from Banana Republic was a staple for professional wardrobes. Now, the shirt silhouette has a more relaxed style. You will find this even at traditional stores, such as Ann Taylor. It's not as oversized as in other modern brands, but still different from years ago.
If you want to try a different silhouette such as this image, a maxi skirt + a vest, my advice is to take into consideration the following:
Don't invest too much money in a silhouette that isn't usually in your comfort zone.
Mix it with pieces you love and wear a lot. It will be easier for you to experiment with new things.
Try it at home with different outfits. Consider the transition to the next season and distinct occasions. With a long skirt, pair it with sandals, heels, or a long-sleeved T-shirt and sneakers. Additionally, why don't you play around with a sweater and boots?
Do you do this exercise when you buy anything new for you? When I work with my clients, I always ask the following question: "What have you bought that you struggle to wear?." During our meeting, I will give you at least three ideas on how to style it.
