A step by step guide on how to shop your own closet

Are you taking a break from work? If so, why don't you spare some time to go shopping without spending any money?

That's right! You can find precious pieces hidden in your own closet that I bet you didn't even remember you had or didn't know how to style differently.

Here are five steps so you can go shopping in your own closet while you enjoy these relaxing days at home:

Step 1:

Start with the current season: your winter clothes.

Take everything from your closet and make different piles: sweaters, pants, T-shirts, etc.

Step 2:

If you haven't done a closet cleaning recently (I recommend doing it at least twice a year), now it's a perfect time.

Get rid of any piece that is not in good condition or you are really sure it isn't your style.

If you find something with stains or in need of an alteration, wash it, or send it to your favorite dry cleaners/tailor.

Step 3:

Take one of your favorite sweaters and try it on with different pants that you are used to. Great!

Now, what about trying it with skirts? Okay.

But you will need something to protect your legs - it's freezing outside, remember?! - so the question is: are your tights in good condition? If not, start a shopping list. Tights are not expensive and they have the power to completely change your outfits.

Step 4:

The mixing and matching isn't over yet!

Try your outfits with boots. Then, add some accessories, like scarves. Play around with different color combinations here. There are endless possibilities!

Step 5:

Get your camera ready! It's time to take photos. This will help you when you're getting ready in the morning or packing for a future trip. Easy, isn't it?

How many new outfits were you able to create?

How did they turn out?

Which one is your new favorite look?
