Spring Cleaning: What to do before you store your Winter clothes and shoes
We are almost in mid-Spring, but if you live in New York like me, you haven’t had the chance to put away all your sweaters yet.
We also didn't get to use our boots much because we didn't get any snow this year. We can all agree it was an unusual winter!
However, if you are ready to start doing your spring cleaning, read these three tips first:
1: SWEATER CARE
As soon as you are sure you won’t wear your favorite sweaters anymore, the best thing to do is hand wash and store them with a lavender sachet or any scent you prefer. This way, you will avoid moths and damage.
2. CHECK YOUR COATS
I suggest you take a look at your coats. Check if they need alterations or go to the dry cleaners. Don't wait until Fall to do this. You never know if a stain will become more visible and hard to remove.
3. DON’T FORGET ABOUT YOUR SHOES
If you’ve had some snow, the best thing to do is to send your boots to the cobbler for a professional cleaning. Salt can seriously damage leather.
Follow these suggestions to make your Winter wardrobe last for a long time. This should always be our goal, right?
