Slingback shoes

I love slingback shoes; they're probably my favorite style.

They're so versatile—I wear mine with dresses or jeans, and perhaps my favorite way is to mix casual and classic. It looks modern to me.

This pair was my first designer purchase over 22 years ago. I found them on sale at Galerie Lafayette (or was it Printemps? I can't quite remember) in Paris. But I vividly recall my excitement when I spotted these three-colored shoes in my size and on sale.

Over the years, I've worn them extensively. They rested in my wardrobe when very pointed toes went out of fashion, and now I've started wearing them again. The heels got damaged during a trip. I sent them twice to a cobbler, and here they are—still one of my favorite pairs of shoes.

I think donating or selling what no longer serves us is good. But the things we love can wait to be worn again when the right time comes.

Here are some slingback shoes available in stores right now to inspire you. Let me know how you would wear them.
