NY Fashion Tour: a course during NY Fashion Week

For nearly 10 years, I’ve been co-hosting a course during NY Fashion Week with a business partner based in Brazil.

The course is designed for Portuguese speakers from Brazil and various U.S. states, offering them a full New York experience during one of the most exciting weeks in fashion. Whether you’re a stylist, fashion designer, retailer, or simply a fashion lover, this program is crafted to immerse take you in the world of fashion in New York.

The program includes classes on macro trends—exploring how global economic and social events influence what we wear. This concept, known as "Zeitgeist," is a German word that means the spirit of the time. We also feature a guest speaker who delves into the talks about the history of NY Fashion Week, adding depth to the experience.

In addition to classroom learning, we take participants on an art tour or visit fashion exhibitions at museums, and we conduct a store tour in Manhattan, exploring shops that align with the current Zeitgeist. To provide hands-on experience, participants volunteer backstage at two fashion shows, working as dressers and gaining valuable insight into the industry, giving them a real experience of how a fashion show works.

I’m always excited to share my experiences living and working with clients in New York with fellow stylists and other fashion professionals. It’s a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired.
