That's why I decided to give you 10 reasons why you should have one of the most famous clothing items for this season: the classic trench coat!
Spring is the best time to buy a trench coat. Besides Burberry, many other brands have this traditional style for the season. This is because we need a lighter coat and it usually rains a lot this time of the year.
It's an investment piece, so think about where you live before getting one. Will you be able to wear it many times a year? For instance, I never had a trench coat when I lived in Rio de Janeiro.
A trench coat can be adapted to any style. It looks amazing with a formal dress, suits, t-shirts+jeans, or even with sneakers. Plus, it can be worn in different seasons, along with dresses or pants. It's extremely versatile!
It doesn't have to be necessarily worn on cloudy or rainy days. It's also perfect for mid-season days.
Get a size that allows you to wear layers of jackets or coats underneath. This will make your outfit look modern and cool. That's why your trench coat shouldn’t be too tight, but also not too big. Remember: it's a classic item. You want it to last for many years to come.
If you don’t like the double-breasted trench coat, you can get single-breasted or even one without buttons. Yes, double-breasted is the classic style, but it can make the bust area visually wider. It's a matter of personal preference here.
An amazing styling tip is to wear the jacket open, with the belt tied on the back. This trick creates vertical lines to elongate and accentuate your waist. Actually, the way you put on the belt can change your entire look by making it creative and fun.
Khaki is the traditional color for trench coats, but you can get a color that suits you better. Navy blue and camel are other excellent options. If you don't look especially good in beige, then throw a scarf or a shirt that fits your color palette. This makes all the difference!
Don’t forget to choose the right sleeve and hem length. If you need, get advice from your tailor regarding any alterations. Make sure it fits you well!
Leather trench coats are beautiful and super stylish for those who look for an alternative style. However, they are not appropriate for rainy days, of course.
