How to match colors: what is the best MATCH for bright colors?

Here is another post in the series about color combinations, but with a twist.

This scenario happens quite frequently: you buy a bright color top because you love it.

When you try to wear it for work, you pair it with black pants. Or jeans, if you're interested in a more casual outfit.

This upcoming spring and fall (link), we will see many vibrant colors in the stores. I can already see them!

That's why I wanted to share an important tip:

Black is not the ideal match for vibrant colors. Black highlights them, so they get even brighter.

The perfect combination for vibrant colors is gray! This is the best neutral color. Gray makes bright colors look more elegant.

What about jeans?

When we match vibrant colors with anything other than black, it makes a huge difference, even from navy blue or black denim. For instance, if your jeans are dark blue, they will look much softer and better with a bright top.

On a Color Analysis, aside from finding your color palette, I advise you on how to wear other colors, too. For example, if you love bright pink, but you look better in softer tones, I will give you some ideas on how to compensate for the effect of a color that isn't the best for you.

Color analyses shouldn't put you inside a box with rules of dos and don'ts.

They open your eyes to new possibilities. The more you know, the more you have the power to decide on what you want to wear.
