How to create a perfect capsule wardrobe for you

If there is one thing I've been hearing from my clients is a desire to have a well-edited closet.

They really aim to welcome simplicity into their lives, and this includes their clothes. This means they're interested in having a small, capsule wardrobe.

What is a capsule wardrobe?

It means having a few, but perfect pieces to mix and match. This way you will be ready for (almost) any occasion.

Some experts talk about a specific number of items, but I fully believe that a capsule wardrobe needs to be personalized to attend to everybody's needs.

Check out the examples on the boards below. I came up with a capsule wardrobe for a woman who is working from home in the Spring.

Maybe she will be happy with this number of items. However, others would be more satisfied having two dresses instead of one, or, let's say, two different styles of jeans.

You decide based on your personal style, lifestyle, and what makes you feel good.

What matters is to be able to match everything you have in your wardrobe in different ways.

If you only wear 20% of your clothes, and the rest is just standing there, this isn't really a capsule wardrobe. Got it?

Here is an example of a Spring capsule wardrobe:

  • 1 T-shirt

  • 1 pair of jeans

  • 1 pair of leggings

  • 1 trench coat

  • 2 sweaters

  • 1 dress

  • 1 pair of boots

  • 1 pair of sneakers

  • 1 necklace

  • 1 pair of earrings
