How I take care of my curls

I usually get questions about my hair on Instagram and Pinterest. People want to know if it is natural and how I take care of my curls.

So I decided to write about how I take care of my blonde curly hair and the products I use.

I always had curly hair, but it wasn't so easy to style it before. There weren't any special products, and the hairdressers didn't really know how to advise on treating curls or suggesting the best haircuts for it.

The most practical solution was to go for a blow-dry or other straightening technique since straight hair was the only acceptable hair type.

Luckily, things have changed in the past years. Because more people are now embracing their curls, there is more information out there.

I learned that a good and frequent haircut is important for those who have spirals, coils, or waves.

On top of that, you will need high-quality products.

To revive the curls, I like to alternate shampoo and a co-wash. Besides, every day I use a leave-in or a good spray. And when it's too humid outside, I apply a light gel.

Here are some of the products I have and approve of. But, first, you need to try them to see if they work for you, too.

I'm proud to say that I can't remember the last time I had a blow-dry. When I attend formal parties or weddings, I take my curls with me. I put on some hairpins and I'm ready to go.

Even if sometimes my hair looks messy - which happens a lot - I don't mind. I realized it's part of my personality and I wouldn't like to have it any other way.

When I see an old photo of me with straight hair, I don't recognize myself.

So if you're considering accepting your curls, go for it. If it doesn't work, you can always go back.

What really matters is to be happy with ourselves, right?

When I work with my clients, I also advise them about hairstyles and hair color. Do you ever think about how your hair impacts your image?
