Color combinations: wearing colorful belts to enhance an outfit

Months ago, I wrote a post about eight reasons why you should have more belts in your closet. In fact, one of the reasons mentioned how you can play with color combinations when you wear a colorful belt.

Then, I received some comments saying that it isn't so easy to find colorful leather belts here.

I've got exciting news!

BeltBe is a new online store here in the US that sells 100% genuine leather belts. They're all handmade in Brazil and you can find a wide variety of colors and styles.

So I chose three colors in different styles to show you how practical it is to wear colorful belts. They are part of my color palette, which makes everything much easier. Oh, and all the clothes are mine. In fact, some of them I have had for many years.

Here are tips on how to wear colorful belts:

  • You can make a colorful belt the focal point of your outfit, especially if you want to accentuate your waist.

  • You can wear a belt in a different color of shoes and bag. This is a great opportunity to play with color combinations. I would choose burgundy boots or a bag for the black outfit + green belt below. That's because Green and Burgundy are on opposite sides in the color wheel.

  • A belt can elevate a simple outfit, for example, wearing jeans and a shirt. Use the same belt color in your accessories, just like I did in the striped shirt look above.

  • A belt can completely change a dress, such as the maroon dress with the mustard yellow belt. If your dress came with a belt, change it and you will end up having a brand new dress!

  • Don't worry about wearing "Autumn colors" in the Spring. Those belts are part of my personal color palette, so I know it works with my wardrobe. I have no problems wearing them all year round.

SUPER TIP:

If you wish to elongate your legs, wear a belt in a similar color to your pants. On the other hand, if you want to elongate your torso, wear a belt in a similar color to your top.

Now, I have more amazing news: BeltBe is offering a discount for all my clients. Just use the code MARCIAVIP in the checkout
