Black Friday : How to shop wisely and get amazing deals

Are you crazy about Black Friday sales? They can be pretty dangerous and tempting, right?

That's why I gathered some tips to help you shop wisely during big sales.

I have one rule of thumb that I follow myself and that’s the same one I give to my clients: sales are perfect for purchasing things we already had an eye on before, but they were too expensive for our budget.

It's the perfect time of the year to buy things we intend to wear forever: a nice coat, a high-quality cashmere sweater, a blazer, or even a good pair of jeans from our favorite brand that we know will fit perfectly.

My other suggestions would be applicable for any other shopping day, full prices included. Here you go:

  • Always take a careful look at your wardrobe first. Is it something that will be a nice addition? A replacement for something you have used a lot and now looks a bit worn out? If it is something you have similar, skip it.

  • Do you really love the piece? Is it really your style?

  • Can you think of at least 3 different combinations with the clothes you already own?

  • Does the color flatter your complexion? This is important if it is something to be worn close to your face.

  • Does it fit well? Consider that you might need a tailor for a few adjustments.

  • Does it fit your lifestyle now? Where are you going to be working in the next few months?

  • Think about maintenance: Does it need dry cleaning? Ironing? If this is something you don't feel like doing, remove it from your cart.

  • Analyze your budget - always!
