How to wear big collars
In the past seasons, statement sleeves were considered the focal point of an outfit.
Now, we have a new trend to divide attention: big collars.
Have you seen anyone wearing this cute, feminine styling hack?
They go by different names. In case you're looking to buy them online, you might search for other terms, such as: oversized, XXL, peter pan, or poplin collars, too. They are pretty easy to find since many designers have incorporated this trend into their collections.
In general, it has a more romantic style.
If this isn't exactly your personal preference, don't worry. If you're somewhat interested in trying it, just be sure to opt for more minimalist details: picking solid colors instead of floral prints, for example.
Also, choose the rest of the outfit the same way: pair your favorite jeans with modern shoes, instead of a flowy skirt and ballet flats. It's all about consistency, right?
I like the idea of a separate collar like the one in animal print (see picture below). It's more versatile - you can wear it over a T-Shirt, a silk blouse, or even a dress!
How do you like the oversized collar craze? Remember: if it's not for you, just skip it. You can find other current trends to fill the gaps you have in your wardrobe or just to update it.
