A Peek into My Outfit Process: Getting Ready with Comfort, Confidence, and Style
Today’s outfit reflects my approach to dressing for both function and personal style. Here’s a breakdown of what I’m wearing - and some tips that might inspire you next time you’re getting ready!
Comfort and Style First: Since I’m working with a client today, I need an outfit that’s comfortable but still put-together. My go-to combination for this season? Jeans and a blazer! It’s effortless yet refined and perfect for Fall temps.
A Feminine Touch, My Way: I chose a black lace top today. It adds a feminine touch without feeling overly “girly”—which isn’t quite my style. If this top were pink, it would give a completely different vibe, showing how much color can change a look.
Blending Tones and Textures: To balance the black lace, I’ve added a warm gray blazer, which softens the look and keeps it grounded. Mixing textures and colors is one of my favorite ways to create depth in an outfit.
Cuffed Jeans for a Petite Frame: These new cuffed-hem jeans are great, even though I often hear petites should avoid cuffs. At 5’3”, I believe it’s all about balance rather than following rules. The right proportions can make almost anything work.
Pointed Flats to Elongate: I chose flats with a pointed toe, which helps elongate the leg line—perfect if you’re looking for a bit of extra height visually!
Adding a Pop of Color: I needed a large bag for my laptop, and instead of the usual black, I went with burgundy. It’s versatile, easier to mix and match, and adds an unexpected pop to the outfit.
Jewelry Is Essential: Accessories are the finishing touches. A little sparkle or texture in jewelry can make a world of difference!
The Final Check: Before heading out, I always take a moment in the mirror to ensure everything feels right. Confidence is the best accessory, so ensure your outfit feels like you.
This is how I think when getting dressed, blending functionality with personality. How do you put your outfits together? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear your styling process!
My jeans and bag are still available at stores. I looked for a similar shirt and shoes:
