7 tips to make your wardrobe more functional

I decided to write about seven tools that are essential to have at home to make our wardrobes more functional.

After all, if we take proper care of our clothes, they can last longer. Besides, they will be ready to wear whenever we need them.

Here's what's on my list:

1- SAME HANGERS FOR ALL THE CLOTHES

Not only should your hangers be the same style, but also the same color. This will make your closet look more cohesive and the clothes will be at the same height - all aligned and easy to see. I like velvet hangers because they are not slippery and save space.

2- HANGERS FOR WINTER JACKETS

I also suggest having different hangers for heavier pieces like Fall or Winter coats. In this case, it's better to have heavy-duty hangers made of wood or plastic.

3- HOW TO GET RID OF PILLING

There's nothing more annoying than when your favorite sweaters start to pill. Luckily, this is an easy fix. You can remove pilling with a shaver or use a comb made specifically for this. I have tested these in the photos below and I approve of them.

4- SAY NO TO DUSTY CLOTHES

Did you know that shoulder covers for clothes in a breathable material will prevent your blazers and coats from getting white dust? These covers are a lifesaver!

5- ADD A STEAMER TO YOUR BLACK FRIDAY LIST

Steamers can help you have your clothes cleaner and less wrinkled. It even works for clothes that don't need to be washed or dry cleaned yet. If you're worried about not having room for a big steamer, try to find a handheld one.

6- HAVE YOU EVER USED FABRIC FRESHENERS?

Sprays that refresh your clothes between uses are amazing. I recommend The Laundress Fabric Fresh for general use. The Laundress Delicate Spray is safe for fabrics such as silk. Finally, The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Spray is perfect for keeping our sweaters fresh as well as avoiding moths.

7- GOT ANY PETS?

Clothes lint rollers are vital to keeping garments in the best condition, especially if you have pets.

What else would you include in this list? Let me know in the comments below!
