5 tips to nail wearing bermuda shorts

You’ve probably seen them in magazines or shop windows. Yes, the bermuda shorts are back! They look cool and can even be appropriate for the office.

Here are 5 tips to nail wearing the bermuda shorts:

1. A bermuda short is similar to a mid skirt (in terms of how you wear it). Make sure to accentuate your waist. You can do that by tucking your shirt in or wearing a belt.

2. If you want to elongate your figure, choose a shirt in a similar color to the bermuda (see photo #2). If you are wearing a suit, a blazer also does the job. And you can wear them as separate pieces.

3. The fitted bermudas (photo #1) are more fashion forward. They are inspired by sporty cycling shorts. So it depends on you, your personal taste and lifestyle.

4. Bermudas can be as versatile as skirts. During colder weather, you can wear them with high-knee boots and a sweater. In the Spring and Summer, bermudas look cool with a T-shirt and mules. I would avoid ballet flats, especially the round toe ones.

5. My final tip is the most important one: ALWAYS try them on and only buy them if you really like the style.

You can find bermudas in different fabrics, including faux and real leather. Take a look at different options (currently in stores) to get you inspired.

How about doing some thrifting in your own home? Maybe you already have something in your closet, or maybe a pair of pants are begging to be altered…
