2024 Closet Spring Cleaning Challenge

Are you ready for the final day of Closet Spring Cleaning?
Even if you haven't completed all the tasks yet, don't worry—I haven't either, and that's okay! The important thing is to keep going.
Today, we're focusing on our third pieces, which include blazers, jackets, cardigans, vests, and coats—anything you wear over other pieces.
Spring Cleaning Day 10 - Third Pieces

Let's start!

Vests
Try on any vests you haven't worn in a while. Ask yourself: Do they still look good? Are they in style? If you're unsure, check out my journal post about vests for some guidance.
Blazers
If you have blazers from years ago when your workplace was more formal, try them on. You might find that your style has evolved, and that's okay.
If you have newer blazers that you wear both to work and socially, that's fantastic! Ideally, try not to categorize clothes in work / going out anymore. The same blazer you would wear to work, you could wear with jeans, a T-shirt, and sneakers to go for a family brunch. A blazer that would work on different occasions definitely should stay in your closet.
Jackets
Bombers, denim, wool jackets—you name it—would fall into this category. First, try them on. If they fit you well, ask yourself if you still love them. Are they clean? This is the best time of the year to wear those jackets without needing to add a heavy coat over them, so if they need to be cleaned, do it ASAP.
Cardigans
Treat your cardigans like you did your sweaters—hand wash and air dry flat. Then decide if they're worth keeping based on your preferences and needs.
Outerwear
Start with essentials for this time of the year: trench coats and rain jackets. Ask yourself the same questions about fit and style.
Move on to transitional weather coats, also perfect to be worn now. Do they need dry cleaning?
Then, for Winter heavier coats, send them to the dry cleaner now, ready to be worn by the end of the year. Why now? We forget things like that, and when you need them again, they are not clean; it's annoying!

P.S. If you are still wearing light puff jackets, remember to machine wash them or send them to the dry cleaners as soon as the weather gets warm. Read the tag. It's different from one brand to another.

I want to congratulate you even before you finish it!
You did great until now, and I am sure you will finish everything soon. I will!
Once you're done, treat yourself to a coffee, a massage, or some time to relax. Now that you know exactly what you have, take the time to reflect on your wardrobe and make a list of things you want to buy.
How does that sound?

I would love to hear your feedback about our Closet Spring Cleaning.
